Auto Accident & No-Fault Rides
Auto Accident Medical Transportation for Michigan No-Fault Claims
Rides to doctors, therapy and rehab after a car accident — coordinated with your auto insurer or the Michigan Assigned Claims Plan (MACP).
Auto Accident (No-Fault) Transportation: the short answer
Under Michigan no-fault auto insurance, personal injury protection (PIP) can cover reasonably necessary transportation to accident-related medical care. CuraTransit provides wheelchair and ambulatory rides to doctors, therapy and rehab for eligible auto-accident claims and eligible MACP cases, and can coordinate with the insurer or claims adjuster. Coverage depends on your claim and benefit verification.

How no-fault medical transportation works in Michigan
Michigan's no-fault law makes personal injury protection (PIP) benefits responsible for "allowable expenses" — reasonable charges for products, services and accommodations reasonably necessary for an injured person's care, recovery or rehabilitation. Transportation to accident-related medical treatment is commonly claimed under these benefits.
Since the 2019 no-fault reform, the amount of PIP medical coverage depends on the coverage level chosen on the policy, and many medical providers are paid under a fee schedule. That is why every transportation claim starts with benefit verification.
If no auto insurance policy applies to you, you may be able to claim benefits through the Michigan Assigned Claims Plan (MACP), which assigns an insurer to handle the claim. CuraTransit accepts eligible MACP cases subject to claim assignment and benefit verification.
What we need to set up no-fault rides
To start, have this information ready when you call:
- Auto insurer name and claim number (or your MACP claim/assigned insurer)
- Adjuster or case manager name and contact information
- Date of the accident
- Your treatment schedule (clinics, days and times)
- Whether you need wheelchair or ambulatory service
Important deadlines
Michigan law generally requires that an application for no-fault benefits be filed with the insurer within one year of the accident. If you have questions about your rights or a denied claim, talk to a Michigan auto-accident attorney — CuraTransit is a transportation provider and does not give legal advice.
